A MOTORCYCLIST caught driving at more than double the speed limit in Tranent will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Road policing officers carried out a hand-held speed check on the town’s Edinburgh Road on Monday evening.
During the check, they captured a motorbike travelling at 72 miles per hour in the 30 miles per hour zone.
The 35-year-old male rider was charged with the relevant road traffic legislation and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
The speed checks comes after complaints were made to the police by members of the public regarding speeding traffic in and around the town.
