More than a thousand pounds has been raised to support the devastated fiance and two sons of a 23-year-old Larkhall man.

William Wardrop, 23, died after being found injured in a Larkhall home on Friday morning.

A fundraiser was created after the news of his death emerged on Saturday to support his "beautiful" fiancée Caitlyn and his two "gorgeous little" boys.

In 19 hours, the GoFundMe had already surpassed it's £1000 goal, reaching £1,564.

The money will also go towards the costs of the funeral.

William is described by the fundraiser as "one of the nicest boys you could ever meet".

The GoFundMe reads: "As many of you are aware William Wardop passed away tragically on the 22nd of May.

"Unfortunately he has left behind his beautiful fiancée Caitlyn and his two gorgeous little boys and the rest of his family I would love to raise money to help towards his funeral costs and to help Caitlyn and the boys in any way I possibly can."

Paying tribute to the 23-year-old it adds: "William was one of the nicest boys you could ever meet and he would do anything for anybody no matter who you were, he had an absolute heart of gold

"My heart goes out to Caitlyn and his full family at this horrible time."

The Glasgow Times had reported yesterday that tributes had been paid to the young man by his family.

The family of the Larkhall man said: "William was a much-loved dad, brother and fiancé who will be sadly missed by us all.

"He will remain forever in our hearts.”

He was rushed to hospital on Friday morning, where he sadly died shortly later.
