POLICE on mountain bikes stopped a man with an illegal substance last Friday (May 8).

Constables Gavin Ross and Graeme Bairden were on a high-visibility bike patrol around Dunbar and the surrounding areas.

As well as the town’s High Street, the two officers gave attention to supermarkets, local beaches and outlying coastal areas.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “They also gave attention to road users, ensuring they were adhering to local speed limits.

“Whilst on patrol, they stopped and searched a male, recovering an illegal substance on his person.

“He was charged under relevant drugs legislation and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
