A HADDINGTON teenager has been told to be of good behaviour for the next six months after he assaulted a woman and a police officer in the town.
Jay Geraghty, of Queens Avenue, pushed an unknown woman on the body before slamming her against a bus stop.
The 19-year-old also punched PC Kirsten Capaldi to the head after the police had been called out to deal with him at Market Street.
He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday to admit the two offences in front of Sheriff Adrian Cottam.
Not guilty pleas to assaulting an unknown male and female during the same disturbance on December 8 last year were accepted by the Crown.
Sheriff Cottam deferred sentence on Geraghty for six months for him to stay out of trouble and to be of good behaviour.
Geraghty will return to court to find out his fate on September 8.
Geraghty pleaded guilty to assaulting an unknown person by pushing her to the body and throwing her against a bus stop at Market Street, Haddington, on December 8 last year.
He also admitted assaulting PC Kirsten Capaldi by punching her to the head on the same date.
