RESURFACING work on a key route to North Berwick High School, Law Primary School and North Berwick Sports Centre has been cancelled.
East Lothian Council announced last week that 220 metres of the B1347 Law Road, from the Grange Road junction to Clifford Road, was to be closed from today (Monday) for this work.
The closure was due to run until next Monday (February 17).
However, due to the recent bad weather all of this resurfacing work has been cancelled and will now no longer be going ahead.
It will now be rescheduled to take place during another school holiday period as this is the only time the work can be carried out, a new date has not yet been agreed.
An East Lothian Council spokesperson said: “Due to the adverse weather conditions and the limited time available to complete the works within the school holiday period, plans to carry out road resurfacing at Law Road in North Berwick have been put on hold.
“The works will now be reprogrammed for another school holiday period. We will keep residents and stakeholders informed.”
The B1347 is the main route linking North Berwick with Haddington to the south and the A1 and the A199.
