THE eighth Walk With Scott will take place at the beginning of May.

The walk was set up by Tranent after-dinner speaker Scott Glynn to mark his 50th birthday.

Scott passed away on New Year’s Day.

Since its inception in 2013, the event has raised more than £300,000 for local charities and good causes.

Last Friday, on social media, the Walk With Scott Foundation announced: “Walk with Scott 8 is on!

“Stick Saturday, May 2, 2020, in your diaries, get those walking shoes out, and look out for further information in the coming weeks.”

Last year, more than 140 people turned out to complete a 26.2-mile walk around East Lothian in aid of the foundation.

The group set out from Cockenzie, heading to Musselburgh; they followed the River Esk to Whitecraig, then went along the old Pencaitland railway, on to Boggs Holdings, up through Butterdean Woods, then along to Longniddry before turning back along the coast road to Cockenzie.
