A HADDINGTON man who assaulted a woman in Dunbar has been jailed.
Lee Rutherford, of Langriggs, punched Catherine Cowe to the head, causing an injury, on the town’s High Street.
Rutherford also shouted and swore during the incident while he acted in an aggressive manner on October 20, 2018.
The 27-year-old also repeatedly banged on a window at a property on the street.
Rutherford pleaded guilty to the two charges at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week.
Sheriff Wendy Sheehan heard that Rutherford had a previous criminal record and sentenced him to a custodial sentence of 73 days.
