A 40-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested and charged with theft and breaking into to two East Lothian businesses.
The businesses affected were SWS Chinese Takeaway on Prestonpans High Street, which was broken into on January 8, and The Seahorse Nursery on Edinburgh Road in Cockenzie, which was broken into on January 9.
The man is also said to have targetted Prestonpans Library which was broken into on January 8.
Chief Inspector Neil Mitchell, Local Area Commander for East Lothian, said: “Our dedicated enquiry teams are working tirelessly to ensure that those who commit these crimes are traced and brought to justice. We will continue this work over the coming weeks and have positive lines of enquiry.”
The arrest follows enquiries made by police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and East Lothian Community Action Team (ELCAT).
