A PROTEST is taking place outside the Town House in Haddington tomorrow morning (Tuesday) ahead of a meeting of East Lothian Council's cabinet where the local authority's climate strategy will be discussed.

The cabinet will be discussing and making a decision on the draft climate change strategy, after the council declared a climate emergency in August last year.

The protest is being organised by Friends of the Earth East Lothian, who were co-organisers of a climate strike in the town last September.

They are being joined by other local sustainability groups who they say “share our sense of urgency about the climate”, and displaying a variety of messages and placards.

The protest takes place outside the Town House at 9.30am, with Friends of the Earth East Lothian urging people to join them, bringing their own placards.
