NB DISTILLERY is in high spirits after being awarded five stars by VisitScotland for its visitor centre.

NB Gin was originally produced in the North Berwick kitchen of owners Steve and Vivienne Muir in 2013.

Since then, the couple have worked hard to grow the business and launched the distillery at Halfland Barns in 2018, themed on the concept of ‘coming home’, with sofas, log burners and a tasting experience, ranging from a one-hour experience to a luxury two-hour connoisseur tour, and exclusive private events and parties.

Rhona Hartley, head of customer experience at NB Distillery, said: “The distillery surroundings are exceptional and it’s a place you just don’t want to leave. But it’s the warmth of the people who welcome you and their kindness and generosity that sets us apart from all other distillery experiences.”

Vivienne said: “The very fact that we’re in the same category as some national iconic visitor attractions is an incredible endorsement of our distillery, and a very proud moment for us.”

The distillery was recently shortlisted for the best visitor attraction award in the Lothians and Borders.
