THE public need to be aware and ask window cleaners for licences, say police, after a man was spotted in Haddington without one.
The man was reported for acting as a window cleaner without a licence – it is not known when the incident took place.
Local community officers Charlie Duncan and Colin Boyd are now reminding everyone that window cleaners need appropriate documentation to ensure they are “fit and proper persons”.
They urge people to ask any unknown person at their property offering window cleaning work to produce their license before accepting.
Anyone looking to carry out work that requires a licence can apply for the appropriate one through the East Lothian Council website.
