PLANS to transform services for older people will be discussed at a meeting on January 14 at the new East Lothian Community Hospital in Haddington.
The meeting is part of the ongoing consultation on the reprovision of services currently provided at the Edington and Belhaven Hospitals, in North Berwick and Dunbar respectively, and The Abbey and Eskgreen care homes, in North Berwick and Musselburgh respectively.
The proposals could see the facilities replaced by ‘extra-care’ housing or alternative accomodation.
This meeting follows a meeting held by East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership (ELHSCP) at Queen Margaret University in June.
ELHSCP hopes to provide more information about the timeline for the work and discuss how communities will be involved.
Representatives from community groups are welcome; email elhscp@eastlothian.gov.uk or call 01620 827755.
