FOUR people suspected of hare coursing were disturbed by police in East Lothian during a day of action to tackle the crime.
During the course of Sunday, numerous officers were deployed to the areas around Dunbar, North Berwick and Haddington to carry out patrols.
Although no calls were received from the public, police did disturb four people near to Knowes Farm who were suspected of being involved in coursing activities.
Due to the fact they saw police approaching, they managed to leave the area in a dark coloured 4x4 vehicle and efforts to locate this were unsuccessful.
Anyone who may have information relating to the vehicle should contact police quoting incident reference 1197 of December 1.
Further days of action are planned over the coming months.
