HEAVY rain could result in flooding in East Lothian this evening, warns SEPA (Scottish Environment and Protection Agency).
It comes after a yellow ‘be aware’ warning for heavy rain was issued by the Met Office, covering Edinburgh and the Lothians.
The warning lasts until 6am tomorrow morning (Thursday).
The flood alert from SEPA warns of possible flooding to rivers, surfaces, low-lying land and coastal areas, with East Lothian at the greatest risk.
Flooding to homes, land, property and businesses is possible, with journeys on buses and trains taking longer than usual and spray on the roads also affecting journey times.
Power supplies and other services could also be affected.
Heavy rain is expected to arrive this evening and carry on overnight, with 20mm-30mm predicted and up to 50mm on higher ground.
