A body has been found in the search for a missing 89-year-old woman.
An urgent appeal was launched to trace missing Helen Maider, who had issues with her memory, after she vanished from her Bishopbriggs home at around 6am this morning.
Met Office forecasts suggest it was around -5.5C when she went missing.
Police have since confirmed the tragic news that a body has been found during the search.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We can confirm a body has been found in the search for missing woman Helen Maider in the Bishopbriggs area.
"The 89-year-old was last seen around 6am on Tuesday, 19 November, 2019 at the junction of Balmuildy Road and Stirling Drive.
"Formal identification has yet to be carried out however her family has been informed and the death is not being treated as suspicious."
