A MAN was taken to hospital with a head injury after being hit by a council gritter on Court Street in Haddington yesterday evening (Monday).
A police spokesperson said: “We received a report of a road traffic collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian on Court Street in Haddington at 6.30pm on Monday, November 18.
“A 20-year-old male pedestrian was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with minor head injuries.”
The Courier understands that no one will be charged in relation to the incident.
East Lothian Council has confirmed the vehicle involved was a gritter.
A council spokesperson said: "An incident occurred at around 6.30pm on Monday when a pedestrian came into contact with a gritter on the carriageway as it was manoeuvring onto Court Street, Haddington.
"The vehicle stopped and the emergency services were called.
"We have been advised that the pedestrian was taken to hospital with what has thankfully been described as a minor injury."
