AN ASSAULT on a police constable has led to a court appearance for a Musselburgh man.
Louis Jones, 20, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week and admitted attempting to headbutt PC Sarah Fairbairn.
Jones attempted to strike the constable with his head during an incident at his home at the town’s Linkfield Road last month.
The man admitted the assault charge at Edinburgh Sheriff Court and was fined £200.
Jones pleaded guilty to assaulting PC Fairbairn by attempting to headbutt her at Linkfield Road, Musselburgh, on October 13 this year.
He also pleaded not guilty to charges of being drunk and incapable of looking after himself and to shouting and swearing at police officers at Rose Street, Edinburgh, on the same date and these were accepted by the Crown.
