YOUNGSTERS at secondary schools in East Lothian are doing their bit for charity tomorrow (Friday).

Pupils at Dunbar Grammar School can ditch their school uniform to raise money for Children in Need.

Pupils can dress down for £1, while there will be entertainment in the school’s assembly hall, with entry 50p.

The school is also holding a bake-off competition.

Meanwhile, at Knox Academy, a range of fundraising activities are also taking place.

S6 pupils at the Haddington secondary school will be dressing up, while there is also a sponsored head shave, with the pupils also collecting donations from local primary schools.

The Preston Lodge 6th Year Charities Committee will not only be raising money for Children in Need on Friday but also for East Lothian Special Needs Playscheme.

There will be a dress down day with a Pudsey theme and the sixth years will be putting on a show for the whole school. They are organising head shaving and leg waxing for boys, and the girls will be savouring delightful dog food sandwiches and bathing in slime-based materials.

North Berwick High, Ross High and Musselburgh Grammar Schools currently do not have any plans in place, with the latter focusing on their Strictly event, being held at the end of the month.
