A POPULAR vegan bar and restaurant in Glasgow’s City Centre will become a family friendly venue offering food to children and young people.
The Flying Duck, on Renfield Street, has had its licence extended by Glasgow City Council to serve a meal to youngsters provided they are accompanied by an adult.
Owners of the establishment, which runs as a café, bar and nightclub, appeared before Glasgow City Council’s licensing board.

Police Scotland, licensing standards officers and building control raised no objection with the application.
At the meeting a representative of The Fling Duck said: “The premises is a loud establishment with food.
“As an experiment they would like to serve food to children and young people. We have created a children’s menu and would allow them into the restaurant area until 9pm provided they are accompanied by an adult.”
Members then asked how children would be kept safe within.
