EAST Lothian’s boxing superstar Josh Taylor was at the Prestoungrange Gothenburg on Saturday to meet and greet some of his supporters after his world championship win against Regis Prograis the previous weekend.

Josh, from Prestonpans, beat the American in the final of the World Boxing Super Series super lightweight division at London’s O2 Arena on October 26.

Children and adults headed to the Prestonpans pub for the event, where Josh shook their hands and had his picture taken with fans.

Michelle Wilson, 36, business owner, said: “It was an amazing night, there was easily 200 people in the pub throughout the evening. The whole pub was packed out.

“Josh was just walking about talking to people and shaking hands and getting his picture taken.

“We see him quite a lot in the pub, he’s just Josh to us, just a local lad that went to the high school.

“I think everyone loved it. We had really good feedback from Josh’s mum and from parents who said their children loved it and that it was such a nice thing for us and for Josh’s family to do.”
