HEAVY rainfall and flooding forced the closure of a busy road.
The B1345, which links Drem and Dirleton, was closed between Drem and Fenton Barns from 8.45pm until about 11pm last night.
A spokesman for East Lothian Council confirmed there had been some “localised flooding across the county” but the main issue was the road immediately to the north of Drem.
He said: “Temporary traffic lights were put in place on Saturday to facilitate the diversion of flood water which was discharging on to the public road.
“Further heavy rainfall resulted in a short road closure on Monday night.
“Our team worked to clear the water and re-open the road as quickly as possible.
“Once the flood water dissipates, further investigation will be undertaken to establish the cause of the problem.”
