PORT Seton Library is temporarily closing for refurbishment.

The library, situated within the Port Seton Community Centre, closes on Monday and will re-open on Monday, December 2.

During this period, customers will not be able to borrow books or other loans; however, they can return any loans to staff at the community centre and the outstanding loans period will be extended during the refurbishment work.

Anyone wishing to use a computer will be able to do so within the community centre.

Councillor Jim Goodfellow, council spokesperson for community wellbeing, said: “Our investment in the refurbishment of the library will result in it being repainted and the carpeting being replaced, which means that it has to be completely emptied for the work to be carried out.

"Loans can still be taken out or returned at any of the other branches across East Lothian and we have made sure that two PCs will be available to use within the community centre.”
