A man was seriously assaulted in the Shotts area of North Lanarkshire on Tuesday evening.
The incident took place on Tulloch Road around 6pm on October 15.
The 34-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police are now appealing for witnesses after a man was arrested in connection with the incident and was released pending further enquires.

PC Heather McDonald, from Motherwell Police Station, said: “As part of our ongoing enquiries I would ask anyone who either witnessed this incident, or has further information, to get in touch.
“You can do that by contacting Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 3039 of 15 October. Alternatively, you can report information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
