A teenager has been reported missing from the Blanefield area and he is thought to be heading towards Glasgow. 

Liam Thompson has been missing for over 48 hours and concerns for his welfare are growing. 

The sixteen-year-old was last seen in the Blanefield area at about 4.45pm on October 17. 

Police suspect he may be heading towards Glasgow as he is known to have links to the Hamilton area of Glasgow.

Forth Valley Police spokesperson said: "He is described as white, 16-years-old, brown curly hair, 6 ft tall, wearing all black and was seen heading along the A81 towards Milngavie."

"We are keen to hear from anyone who has seen or spoken to Liam since Thursday."

"We also ask that anyone traveling around the central belt and Glasgow areas is vigilant and report any sightings of Liam by calling 101, quoting incident 3292 of 17 October."
