POLICE have shared a video showing one carriageway of the A1 at Haddington completely underwater earlier today.
The A1 has now fully re-opened after flooding saw a section of it shut in both directions for several hours following torrential rain.
Posting on Twitter this evening, police thanked everyone for their patience and shared the below video showing the extent of the flooding.
We would like to thank motorists for their patience on the A1 earlier today between Dunbar and Haddington. The road was closed in both directions to allow flooding to be cleared, reopening about 1430hrs. This was the extent of the flooding. 😲 pic.twitter.com/iuLetpaq3n

The closure resulted in long delays for traffic.
Meanwhile in Haddington, the River Tyne burst its banks in places following the rain.
