A PRESTONPANS man has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for two years after he admitted sexually assaulting a woman.
John Coull, 53, assaulted the woman at an address in the town after he had been invited to the property.
During the evening of May 5, Coull began rubbing the woman’s feet underneath her nightwear before going on to touch her waist and back.
Coull, of Acheson Drive, then pulled the younger woman’s pyjama bottoms down and touched and kissed her bottom during the incident.
He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month, where he pleaded guilty to the offence.
And during last week’s sentencing hearing, Sheriff Robert Weir placed Coull on the sex offenders’ register for the next two years.
Coull was also ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work in the community and was placed on supervision for two years.
Coull pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting the woman in Prestonpans on May 5.
