A COUNTY man has received a six-month jail sentence after he was caught driving while banned.
John Barclay, c/o HMP Edinburgh, was caught behind the wheel while driving on Niddrie Marischal Street, Edinburgh, earlier this year.
When police officers spoke to the 32-year-old, it was found that he was already banned from the road following a previous driving offence.
Barclay appeared from custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, where Sheriff Donald Corke sentenced the offender to a six-month jail term.
But as Barclay has been serving several months on remand, he was released following the court hearing.
Sheriff Corke also handed Barclay a four-year driving ban.
Barclay admitted driving while banned at the Edinburgh street on May 5.
