TORRENTIAL rain is set to hit East Lothian this weekend, forecasters have warned.

The Met Office has issued a yellow 'be aware' warning of heavy rain from early Sunday morning through to 6pm that evening.

Travel disruption is possible and the Met Office adds that there is also a chance of some localised flooding in some areas.

The current forecast for Sunday in East Lothian is for heavy rain overnight and throughout the morning, becoming lighter in the afternoon and continuing well into the evening.

Temperatures, however, are forecast to be relatively mild, hovering between about 10C and 13C.
