A PUB and a hairdressers in Prestonpans were both broken into on the same night.

The first incident happened at 2am on Wednesday at the Railway Tavern on High Street, where damage was caused but nothing was stolen.

Police are also investigating a break-in at the nearby 202 Hairdressers, which took place at about 4.10am. As a result, a tablet and hair products were stolen.

DC Mark Asquith, from Dalkeith CID, said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

“The person responsible is described as being a man wearing a two-tone jacket, who was seen leaving through the front window of the pub and some time later walking along the road in the direction of Lidl.”
