A TRANENT man has pleaded guilty to assaulting a Wallyford shopkeeper and robbing him of alcohol.
Bruce Farquhar also lunged at a second man with a knife and attempted to strike him with the weapon at the Lifestyle Express store on the village’s Salters Road.
Farquhar entered the store in March and proceeded to pull out a blade and attempt to rob the shop.
Farquhar, of Blawearie Road, admitted five offences during an appearance in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
The 39-year-old also admitted possessing a knife during the incident on March 29.
Farquhar also pleaded guilty to shouting, swearing, uttering threats and damaging a door at an address at Albert Road, Wallyford, on the same date.
He also admitted possessing a screwdriver during the incident.
Sheriff Kenneth McGowan deferred sentence to October 22.
