A PRESTONPANS man who repeatedly spat at two paramedics has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.

Stuart Bogie, of North Bank Road, spat at the two medics following an incident in Musselburgh in June.

Bogie also spat at two police officers during the incident while he also assaulted a third officer by repeatedly attempting to kick his body.

The 28-year-old was arrested and charged and he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week, where he was told he must carry out 140 hours of unpaid work in the community.

Sheriff Fiona Reith also placed Bogie on a restriction of liberty order, under which he must stay within his home between 8.30pm and 5am each night for the next 100 days.

Bogie pleaded guilty to assaulting, obstructing or hindering two paramedics by repeatedly spitting at them at North High Street, Musselburgh, on June 6.

He also admitted to spitting at two police officers and assaulting a third PC by repeatedly attempting to kick him on the body during the same incident.
