THREE men have been arrested following a disturbance in Dunbar on Saturday morning.
Police were called out at about 9.45am to Countess Road after claims men were fighting in the street.
Chief Inspector Neil Mitchell, local area commander for East Lothian, said: “An incident such as this, particularly in a busy street at this time of day, is very rare.
“Officers from the Dunbar and Haddington areas responded and quickly dealt with the situation.
“I have increased patrols in the area but would like to reassure the public that this was an isolated incident.”
Officers were quickly dispatched and traced three men, who were then arrested and have since been charged with various offences, including a serious assault.
Anyone with information should call police on 101 and quote incident number 1275 of September 14.
