STAFF at Torness Power Station have had their long-service recognised at a celebratory lunch.
Twenty-nine members of staff toasted 640 years’ worth of service between them at the event.
Among those being recognised were Gordon MacKenzie (40 years) and performance improvement manager Neil Brown (30 years).
Maintenance manager Mr MacKenzie said: “I can’t believe how the years have flown. I have been at Torness since we started generating in 1988.”
Robert Gunn, station director, added: “It was great to be able to join my colleagues to thank them for their dedication both to Torness and to the nuclear industry more widely.
"The industry provides good quality, well paid jobs but we also have a great team culture at Torness and that encourages people to stay.”
