FOUR lucky Dunbar neighbours were given the perfect start to their weekend after scooping an incredible £30,000 – all thanks to their postcode.

The Woodbush Court winners landed the five-figure sum after their EH42 1JE postcode was pulled out of a prize draw.

Among those celebrating a share of £120,000 was Jude Logan, who was delighted with the win.

The 43-year-old said: “It’s beginning to hit home very slowly…it’s just amazing!

“I’m not sure what I’m going to spend it on yet as I don’t want to waste it, but I will definitely use some of it as fun money.

“I’m also in the process of doing my kitchen up so I don’t need to worry about paying that off anymore.”

Jude, who is a signaller for Network Rail, decided to sign up to play the lottery after volunteering with Riding for the Disabled (RDA), which has so far received over £2.6 million thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

She added: “I volunteer with RDA and discovered at one of their events that the lottery gives funding to the charity.

“I signed up right away and I couldn’t be happier that I did now!

“It’s amazing that both the charity and I have won.”

Her neighbour Allan Kerr was another winner scooping £30,000.

He said: “It’s still not quite sunk in yet, all I know is I am very happy about it!”

Allan’s wife, Gayle, and son, Jordan (28), were also at home when Allan found out how much he had won and were equally as thrilled.

When asked what he would spend the prize money on, the self-employed painter and decorator said: “I’m sure I will treat everyone to something nice, but I have no idea what that will be quite yet…it’s just nice to have the money for now!”

Two other neighbours also won a £30,000 cash prize each.

They were not available to receive their cheques in person, but the money will be paid directly into their bank account.

The prize is part of People’s Postcode Lottery’s special campaign where every day in September’s draws, players in one lucky postcode will win £30,000 per ticket, with a minimum of £17 million being won in this month’s draws alone.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador, Danyl Johnson, was in Dunbar over the weekend to present 66-year-old Allan, a former firefighter in the town, and Jude with their cheques.

A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have helped raise more than £474 million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

Many local charities have also been supported by players.
