BELHAVEN Brewery is raising a glass after one of its beers scooped a top prize at a global ceremony.

Twisted Grapefruit IPA has been named a national winner at the 2019 World Beer Awards.

The World Beer Award in the IPA Speciality category follows the win for Twisted Grapefruit IPA at the Scottish Beer Awards in 2018 when it was named Scottish Beer of the Year.

The brewery was also able to toast a double celebration, with Twisted Thistle IPA winning bronze in the American IPA category.

Matt Starbuck, managing director, said: “What a way to celebrate 300 years of brewing world-class beers.

"We are proud to win these awards, proving that Scotland’s oldest brewery is still at the forefront of brewing innovation.”

The brewery turns 300 this year, with plans for a music festival this month.
