EAST Lothian Council has apologised for leaving the lines on Tranent Juniors Football Club’s pitch at Foresters Park in a poor state.
The state of the lines was highlighted on Twitter, where they were described as “an absolute mess” and had been “made 10 times worse by trying to fix them, absolute disgrace ruined months of work”.
A club spokesperson said: “It is human error on the council’s part. It is not ideal, but it was just human error.
“The situation has now been rectified. We don’t feel it is right to comment further at this time.”
A council spokesperson said: “We recognise and understand dissatisfaction on this matter. We are taking action to address the issue to ensure that the required standards are met.”
