GUESTS at Leuchie House respite centre near North Berwick enjoyed a private viewing of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo last week.

Those in attendance enjoyed performances by Tasmania Police Pipe Band, Hjaltibonhoga Shetland Fiddlers and the great Tattoo Dance Company.

The Tattoo is an iconic Edinburgh institution that includes music, dance and precise displays with the Massed Pipes and Drums, the Massed Military Bands, cultural troupes, singers and the poignant refrain of the Lone Piper against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.

Mark Bevan, chief executive of Leuchie, said: “This was a wonderful opportunity for our guests to experience something which many of us take for granted but sadly can be beyond their reach.

“The performers not only put on a fantastic show but spent time meeting and chatting with our guests afterwards which made the event even more special.”

Leuchie guest Iain Elder added: “Being a Musselburgh man and living just seven miles from Edinburgh for over 30 years, I had never thought that I would ever experience the Tattoo. The Leuchie visit was a fantastic event and a spectacle to behold.

“It was an astounding experience with a fantastic group of people.”
