STRONG winds led to organisers of the North Berwick Raft Race cancelling the event on Saturday.
Winds speeds of over 50mph meant conditions on the water were not safe.
Pippa Machetto, one of the organisers, said: “I always say safety first and with 50mph offshore winds I had images of rafts landing in Fife.
“Jokes aside, it was way too dangerous. I hope everyone that put so much effort into their raft can join us again."
It is hoped that the race can be rescheduled for later this month, possibly Saturday, September 14, but this has not yet been confirmed.
