THREE incidents of suspected hare coursing in East Lothian yesterday (Sunday) are being investigated by police.

One incident was reported near to Athelstaneford,another occurred in a field near to Gifford Golf Club and a third report was received of a group of people seen within a field with dogs near to Lochhouses, Whitekirk.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw a grey Nissan X-Trail and a blue Subaru Forrester either parked up near to fields or possibly driving with lurcher dogs in the vehicle.

On police attending the incident at Lochhouses, a vehicle drove off at speed and was soon lost to sight, having left three dogs running loose in the field. Two of the dogs have since been recovered by police and enquiries are continuing.
