A MUSSELBURGH man will be sentenced later this year after he admitted assaulting a shop worker in Edinburgh.
Craig Douglas, 24, punched employee Zahid Bashir to the head during a violent confrontation at the Earlston Convenience Store earlier this year.
Police were called in to deal with Douglas following the attack but he failed to engage with the officers and did not give them his personal details after being requested to.
Douglas was arrested and he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday, where he pleaded guilty.
Sheriff Alison Stirling was unavailable to deal with the case when it called to court last week and sentence on Douglas was deferred to October 8.
Douglas admitted assaulting Mr Bashir by punching him to the head at Earlston Convenience Store, Earlston Place, Edinburgh, on July 14.
He also pleaded guilty to failing to give police officers his details at Waverley Place, Edinburgh, on the same date.
