MUSSELBURGH Racecourse is back in action tomorrow (Friday) afternoon, with a family day featuring The Archerfield Cup Race Day.
Locals and visitors to East Lothian can enjoy seven action-packed races featuring prize money of more than £70,000 and a host of free family entertainment.
Attractions for those with young children includes free funfair rides and face painting. Children aged under 18 are admitted for free when accompanied by an adult.
Gates open at noon and the first race gets underway at 2.10pm.
The feature race on the card is the £20,000 Glenrath Farms Archerfield Cup (3.40pm) over 1m 6f and the support race is the £13,000 EBF Conditional Stakes five furlong sprint (2.40pm).
Musselburgh Racecourse marketing manager Susan Findlay, said: “For families in the middle of that long summer holiday period our family day is a great alternative to the beach or other tried and tested family treats.
“While the action takes place on the track there is plenty of free entertainment to interest our younger visitors.”
Purchasing an Early Bird ticket by midnight tonight, Thursday, will save racegoers £5 on the usual £22 entry free.
For those travelling from further afield, free courtesy buses from and returning to Wallyford and Newcraighall rail stations are provided.
