A TRANENT thief has been ordered to pay compensation to a superstore chain where he stole over £600 worth of alcohol.
Guy Sullivan, 38, stole alcohol from Asda Tranent on February 9 and February 11 this year worth a total of £461. About £160 of goods were not recovered.
And on April 2 he took alcohol worth £200 from Asda at The Jewel, Edinburgh, without paying. None of this alcohol was recovered by police.
Sullivan appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court where he admitted three charges of shoplifting and had pleas of not guilty to four further charges of theft accepted by the Crown.
Sheriff Gordon Liddle sentenced Sullivan, of Carlaverock Court, to pay the supermarket giant a total of £200 in compensation.
