EAST Lothian is packed full of attractions over the weekend, ensuring, if you are looking for something to do, there is something for everyone.

Whether it is planes, boats, horses or much more, there is plenty to keep everyone occupied - even if the weather isn't perfect.

1. Scotland's National Airshow

BIG crowds are expected to flock to the National Museum of Flight at East Fortune on Saturday as Scotland’s National Airshow takes place.

And as well as all the aircraft initially announced, there are some exciting new additions to the line-up for the airshow, which takes place between 10am and 5pm, with the aerial displays set to commence from 12.30pm.

Despite today's poor weather, organisers said this morning that the Met Office forecast "showed nothing to prevent the Airshow going ahead today as planned".

A Wildcat HMA 2 maritime attack helicopter, 1943 Catalina flying boat and a 1942 North American T6 Texan training aircraft are among the newbies.

Joining them in their debut at the airshow are a Second World War Soviet Yakovlev Yak-3 fighter, a Westland Scout helicopter and a de Havilland Beaver utility aircraft.

Also in the mix at the airshow are a Goodyear Corsair FG-1D US wartime fighter bomber, Canadian T-33 Silver Star jet and an American P47 Thunderbolt Second World War fighter, while five members of the Wings Parachute Display Team drop in.

As well as all the new additions, the aerial entertainment programme includes the RAF’s Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane and Avro Lancaster from the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, as well as the modern-day Typhoon fighter jet.

Aerobatic display team The Blades will take to the skies along with the AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers, both performing some breathtaking tricks; plus, much, much more.

Tickets can be bought online, by calling 0300 123 6789 or on the gate on the day. Visit nms.ac.uk/airshow for more details.
