A MUSSELBURGH woman has been told to be of good behaviour for the next 12 months after being in possession of a weapon.
Rosemary Cowan, of Stoneybank Crescent, admitted carrying a knife on London Road, Edinburgh, last year.
Cowan, 49, was also alleged to have attacked a man by striking him to the body with the blade at Cables Wynd House, Leith.
But a plea of not guilty was accepted to the assault charge when she appeared at the Capital’s sheriff court last Wednesday.
Sheriff Kenneth Maciver was told that Cowan was a first offender and he decided to defer sentence to January for her to prove she could stay out of trouble.
Cowan admitted possessing a knife at London Road on August 21 last year.
A not guilty plea to assaulting a man by repeatedly uttering threats of violence to him and striking him on the body with a knife was accepted.
