A HARD-WORKING team has been given the stamp of approval for their “exceptional customer service” at a national ceremony.

Dunbar Post Office scooped the Travel Services Small award at the Post Office Retail Awards, which were hosted by television personality Tess Daly.

Nazea Saqib and husband Saqib Bashir were delighted to receive the honour in Birmingham.

The couple have been in charge of the High Street Post Office for just four years.

Nazea, who is the postmistress, described winning the award as “absolutely phenomenal”.

She told the Courier: “To be honest, I did not expect it.

“I know we have worked really hard with our travel services in the last couple of years. It was one of the things we wanted to achieve and to win is so unbelievable.”

Debbie Smith, Post Office CEO of retail, said: “People working in our branches such as Dunbar are passionate about what they do, working incredibly hard every day, providing services that really matter to our customers.

“We are really pleased to be presenting them with this award as they are key to ensuring our branches thrive at the heart of communities across the UK, not just for today’s customers but for future generations too.”
