Sheriff Norman McFadyen placed the offender on 12 months of supervision to monitor his behaviour and also told him he must carry out 180 hours of unpaid work in the community.
Fyvie pleaded guilty to assaulting Alexander Borthwick by punching him to the head to his injury outside Smyths Toy Superstore, Newcraighall Road, Edinburgh, on December 14 last year.
