NEWHAILES House at Musselburgh is among the new additions to VisitScotland’s Outlander locations map.
The 17th-century Palladian villa joins Beecraigs Country Park in West Lothian and Arniston House in Midlothian as three of eight new locations that feature in the fourth season of the time-travelling romantic television adventure series starring Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan.
The Outlander map, created by the national tourism organisation, has been revamped to include more details, including postcodes and whether the on-screen locations feature parking, toilet facilities, admission fees and eateries.
Newhailes, owned by the National Trust for Scotland, served as Governor Tyron’s home in North Carolina.
Outlander locations are popular with visitors and the map now features 43 of the Scottish locations used in the hit Sony Pictures television show for fans to explore.
Outlander follows the romantic adventures of English Second World War combat nurse Claire Randall, who travels back in time to 18th-century Scotland, where she meets and falls in love with Scottish Highlander Jamie Fraser.
