A DRIVER has avoided injury after swerving to avoid a vehicle travelling in the wrong direction on the A1.
The incident, which took place at about 10.50am this morning (Thursday), took place on the westbound carriageway, near Haddington.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "It appears the driver in a light blue car has been driving the wrong way between Haddington and Dunbar."
"The driver of another vehicle has then swerved to avoid the vehicle and hit the central reservation but sustained no serious injuries.
"Enquiries are ongoing in a bid to trace the driver of the light blue car."
Traffic Scotland had tweeted that the northbound/westbound carriageway was closed but one lane has now re-opened.
