DOZENS of brightly decorated taxis have made their way through East Lothian as part of an annual trip.

Cabbies took the day off and made their way from Edinburgh towards Yellowcraig.

Along the way, the taxis, many covered in balloons, passed through Musselburgh and stopped off for ice cream at Lucas.

From there, it was along the coast road and passing through Prestonpans, Cockenzie, Port Seton, Aberlady, Gullane and Dirleton before reaching their destination.

The Edinburgh Taxi Trade Children’s Outing dates back more than 70 years.

Edinburgh's taxi trade has been taking children with special needs on a day out since 1947.
