HEAVY rain is expected as the Met Office has issued weather warnings for East Lothian for tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday.

The Met Office has put out yellow 'be aware' warnings for both days due to the predicted rainfall in the county.

It says that spells of heavy and persistent rain have the potential to bring flooding and travel disruption, with a likelihood of difficult driving conditions.

The Met Office describes the warning as having a 'medium' impact but a 'low' likelihood.

The current weather forecast for East Lothian predicts that rain will fall throughout Wednesday, initially light but turning heavy mid-afternoon and continuing as such through the evening and into Thursday morning before easing off, although rain is still predicted to fall throughout Thursday.
